from a dear junior(:

All 81 of us, conductor included
Stepped up the stage of SCH, and the music started.
With strokes of the baton, our music flowed,
The judges and others, they were all enchanted.

Our melody touched hearts, our music danced,
Each stylish cue from our conductor, each elegant phrase of ours.
With the chemistry and the NYCO spirit, our music pranced,
The judges and others, were left impressed for hours.

We gave all our heart; we played on stage like we never did.
The judges sitting in front of us, warned us not to squeal.
This was when we knew, we had achieved.
"Gold with Honours", oh the thrill!

Competition to many is a sensitive word. Competition is not just about the surface level; of a physically seen contest; it is one of a silent lurking force in each of our hearts. Competition involves a slight tendency in the ballooning of egocentrism for the defendants; the prosecutors stepping up to match up to the standard. Competition requires careful strategy; some tedious planning. Competition brings about glory, about ambition, about fame: Competition is a mage at work.

But what we fail to realise about competition is about the cruelties it brings about. Competition often harms a party, if not two. Conflicts, politics, gore are often induced from competition. Competition often brings out the best performance in one's worst character (which means it is horrible anyway). Competition is the opposite of a transient process; in fact competition lasts long, drags on; forever and ever. And what if someone dies from the competition? His soul lingering behind, bent on winning the competition? What if the competition was the world to him?

Then don't practice competition.

Just a few short lines on competition. Like SYF, or NAC, etc. Rambling again! XD

NYCO ROCKS.

MRS EE ROCKS.

NYTANBO ROCKS.

I LOVE NYCO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

in the audi prac was still not very optimistic.

BUT for some reason, i dont know why, when we got on stage, there was just this QIFEN.
and time passed so fast on stage that i before i knew it, it was over.
and we felt CONFIDENT. :DDDDDDDD

(even though after listening to subsequent schools my confidence faded)

BUT, we still made it! :D

NYCO<3

in two weeks, we made it from a silver standard to a gold standard, and in a mere 5 hours, it was GOLD WITH HONOURS.

everyone worked very very hard!
xinku le!!
all the morning pracs, lunch pracs, pracs, were worth it!!

NYCOOOOOOOOOO!!! ;D

hi nyco! syf is tmr. i know that all of u very EXCITED abt it, m i right? haha! well, this is not my first time participating in a competition, neither is this my first co competition. but i dont know why i felt the most for this syf, compared to all my previous competitions. Initially, i thought it would just be another normal syf. who knows after chatting with yiling about syf last week, i suddenly felt the tense of syf. it was very strong. for the subsequent 5 days, i thought so much about co and syf that i actually dreamt about nyco every night without fail (it stopped after the 5 days lah). actually, my main worry has always been 'what will happen to nyco if we nvr get gwh'. TOUCH WOOD LAH. but i dont wish we would be like those seniors who couldn't even study after getting silver. i really hope everyone can be fine. so i urge everybody to be mentally prepared for any outcome, cos everything is unpredictable. again, most importantly, we have to put in our utmost best, so as to not regret. moreover this is gonna be the last syf for most of us, make it the best one, so that we can keep this beautiful memory in our minds forever. (im sure u guys wouldn't want to have a bad memory of syf m i right?)

next, i have smth to reveal! haha! the other time i went to attend the cca student leaders meeting with the board of directors with yiling (on behalf of maureen cos she couldn't make it). ms yap (yes, our principal!) actually said that she could feel us submerging into the music during the guzheng concert. when we heard her words, yiling and i gave each other a guilty look. im not sure if all of us really submerged into the music, but after listening to what ms yap said, i recalled smth that i guess most of us have neglected, that is 投入. like what mrs ee has been telling us, a gold co plays music that is prim n proper, whereas a gwh co plays the same, but with additional feelings. in other words, we need to make our music touching by adding in our feelings. some of u may have been wondering how to make the feelings come to u. well, im not sure abt you guys, but for me, i would spend some time thinking of the appropriate feelings for each different sections of the song and try to add in those feelings when playing. and of course, in order to do that, you have to put in your heart, mind and soul (in other words, 100% of you) into the music, and feel what the music is depicting. i know that all of us have a common goal of gwh, and i know that telling ourselves gwh is not important is impossible. though gwh is impt becos it's our goal, it shdn't be our main focus. within that 10min of shine on the SCH stage, rmb what mrs ee had told us to do for each parts, be alert in case anything crops up, and put in the 100% of u into the music.

last but not least, i would like to thank the whole of nyco. though we merely practised for syf for only about 5-6 months, im really glad to be in nyco. you guys have given me wonderful memories of nyco practices, performances and events. dont think that you r juz a minor role in nyco. without every single of you, nyco is incomplete. thank you for all the effort that all of you gave in for nyco. no matter what the outcome is, im really very, very happy to be part of nyco. thank you nyco, i love nyco!

jiayou and gd luck for tmr! (:

NYCO!!

after seeing many inspiring posts by our dear own members, i realise that nyco does care, and alot. alot.

i have been a spy on the cchmco(the school right before us!) blog and realise that they are very very hyper and very very bonded.
like they'll go out tgt after practises and such.
and i thought about nyco.

we don't do that, but we all know that our hearts are together right!!

on tues, we shall all look at mrs ee with big wide open eyes, and feel the sense of adrenaline as mrs ee waves her first stroke down. on the upbeat, we shall all inhale a deep breath with her and move together at the critical point down.

okay i shall stop inspiring. i see many people have done so!

and i think we are losing touch for jiankuaideliangfeng!
bar 71. remember all the gold with honour moments?! we are losing it! it doesn't take much practise for this, as long as everyone remembers.

i think we all can do it!
many many of the instructors sang their praises for us(:

HELLO NYCO LET'S GO OUT THERE AND BEAT EVERYONE ELSE FLAT DOWN.

okay wrong perspection,
HELLO NYCO LET'S GO UP THERE AND ENJOY THE MUSIC!! :D
